Transverse Tibial Bone Transport (TTT) is a limb-salvage surgical procedure, based on the Ilizarov principle of distraction osteogenesis, used to treat chronic, non-healing wounds, nonunions of fractures, and severe ischemia (poor blood flow). It involves cutting a small piece of the tibia and moving it away from the bone a few millimeters, stimulating new blood vessel growth and improving circulation. This is done with an external fixator.
